Which kind of charge have you got?
Getting this wrong is the most expensive mistake people make. The law, the deadline and the appeal body are different for each one, and an argument that wins against a private operator is irrelevant to a council.
Private parking charges
Issued by a company on private land, usually a supermarket, retail park or private car park. Not a fine: a claim for breach of contract, and it has to meet POFA 2012 to reach you as keeper.
